02SERP features and AI answers

Z Grills owns fewer SERP features than it did a year ago

SERP features are the enhanced elements in Google results: AI Overviews, image packs, videos, reviews and "People Also Ask." They put a brand in front of buyers beyond the ten blue links. Z Grills' count peaked in mid-2025 and has stayed low since. Less ownership here, and in LLM answers, wears down organic visibility over time.

What we'd do

Structure collection pages and PDPs so Google and the assistants can lift answers from them: FAQs with schema, "best for" sections, comparison tables and clean product data. Section 11 has the full plan.

03Competitive landscape

To gain share, Z Grills needs more page-one rankings, stronger links and a higher Domain Authority

Pit Boss is the clear leader. Grilla has the same Domain Authority and fewer backlinks, yet ranks for about 40% more keywords. That gap comes from content and optimization.

The target

Domain Authority is calculated from more than 40 factors, including how many backlinks you have, their quality and relevance, content quality, keyword rankings and root domains. We should be aiming for a Domain Authority over 45.

04Metadata

About 70 pages have missing, duplicate or under-optimized metadata

That limits click-through rate and keyword visibility in both organic and LLM search. Quality is inconsistent: some pages use generic titles, while others have descriptive, keyword-focused fields. The good news is that Google is largely displaying the metadata you submit, so stronger titles and descriptions are a direct lever on relevance and clicks.

What we'd do

Write compelling, keyword-targeted titles and descriptions for every priority page, align H1s, collection titles and product titles, add engaging on-page content, and recommend FAQs and UGC where they help.

05Product page FAQs

Missing PDP FAQs limit Z Grills' visibility in organic search and LLM results

  1. Answer common product, usage and maintenance questions directly on the product page, where the buying decision happens.
  2. Capture long-tail, nonbrand searches through question-based content.
  3. Give search engines and LLMs clear, product-specific information they can understand and surface.
